YUN YAO

I'm an Assistant Professor of Chinese in the Department of World Literatures, Languages, and Cultures at the University of Arkansas.

My research interests lie in Chinese linguistics, second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and sentence processing. My work primarily investigates how native speakers and second language learners process Mandarin Chinese.

I teach different levels of Chinese language courses at the University of Illinois and work with both heritage and non-heritage learners. I have also taught summer programs at Monterey Institute of International Studies and Beloit Collge.
